European Security Academy

Why European Security Academy delivers this edition

European Security Academy (ESA) provides professional security and protection training for participants from multiple countries and operational backgrounds. The Costa Rica 2026 edition is delivered through ESA Spain instruction.

Training framework

Who delivers the training

Instruction is delivered by ESA Spain. Local organisation and coordination of the edition are handled by Survival Skills Costa Rica and TACT Costa Rica.

Survival Skills Costa Rica and TACT Costa Rica are not ESA representatives and not authorised ESA centres: they act exclusively as local organisers and coordinators.

Training approach

The training is intensive and performance-oriented: six consecutive days of applied work, decisions under pressure, team coordination and strict safety compliance.

Assessment is continuous throughout the programme and combines technical performance, operational judgement and teamwork.

Small-group format

The edition admits a maximum of 15 participants, which allows individual follow-up of performance during exercises.

Admission is decided by professional profile review; this is not an entry-level course.

Training environment in Costa Rica

The programme runs in San José, Costa Rica, from December 14 to 19, 2026, delivered entirely in Spanish.

The package includes 7 hotel nights, with check-in on December 13 and check-out on December 20, 2026, together with local coordination, operational facilities, range access and course materials.

For institutional information about the academy, see the official ESA website linked in this site's footer.
