The Costa Rica 2027 edition awards one certification issued by European Security Academy: the ESA PSD Certification. This page explains what it evidences and what it does not replace.
The actual scope of this edition's certification
What the certification evidences
It evidences participation and assessed performance in a specific training programme, with its own content and criteria.
Assessment is continuous across the five days. Certification is awarded to participants who satisfactorily complete the programme and demonstrate the required ESA training standards.
What it does not replace
It does not replace the licence, registration or professional authorisation required by each country's regulations to perform protection duties or carry firearms.
It is not equivalent to a certification named CPO or to an Executive Protection certification; those terms appear on this site as industry context.
Verification by jurisdiction
Recognition of foreign training depends on each country. We recommend verifying requirements with the competent authority of the country where you intend to work.
The organisation does not process licences or professional authorisations in any country.
