Readiness guide for international participants

Everything needed to reach San José ready to train from day one.

Travel and accommodation details

Passport and visa

A passport valid for the period required by Costa Rica on the date of entry.

Obtaining a visa, where applicable, is solely the participant's responsibility. The organization can issue a participation confirmation letter if requested in advance.

A return ticket is recommended and may be requested at immigration control.

Travel medical insurance

The programme requires travel medical insurance valid for all programme dates.

Policy details and the policy document are recorded before training starts.

Arrival at SJO

Airport arrival and departure coordination is provided within official programme windows. Arrivals or departures outside official windows may require separate coordination or additional cost.

Flight number, arrival time and departure time are requested once admission is confirmed.

Hotel and local logistics

Accommodation at Hotel Bougainvillea with 7 nights and breakfast included, under the conditions established by the organizers.

Transfers between the hotel and training facilities are coordinated by the local organization.

Climate, money and connectivity

December in the Central Valley is temperate, with cool nights and possible rain. Layered technical clothing is advisable.

The local currency is the Costa Rican colón; international cards are widely accepted. Mobile coverage and connectivity in San José are reliable.

What to bring

Technical training clothing, broken-in boots, hearing and eye protection, gloves, cap, sun protection, hydration, recovery clothing and personal documentation.

The definitive equipment list is issued to admitted participants.

What not to bring

Firearms, ammunition, replicas, magazines or restricted material in your luggage: international transport of such items is not permitted within the programme framework.

Any doubt about a specific item must be checked with the organization before travelling.

Final operational details are confirmed in writing to each admitted participant before travel.
